Dr. Roberts is the author of 'How to Keep from Breaking Your Heart - What Every Woman Needs to Know About Cardiovascular Disease.' She is also the director of the Women's Cardiac Center at The Miriam Hospital and a Clinical Associate Professor at Brown Medical School.
Roberts has long been interested in women's health issues. She was the first female adult cardiologist in the state and was the first woman accepted into the Gorlin cardiology fellowship at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital, a Harvard University Medical School Teaching Hospital.
Roberts was also among the first group of Ms. Magazine's "Found Women" and was chosen by the Rhode Island Medical Women's Association as the Woman Physician of the Year 2000.
"When I came to Rhode Island in 1977 specialized cardiac care for women was non-existent," says Roberts. "There is much that women can and should do to lower their risk of heart disease and live longer, healthier lives. This center is a good first step in that direction for women in Rhode Island."
Dr. Roberts has spoken at the Speaking of Women's Health National Conference, at the 2005 Women's Health Summit and is an accomplished sailor.
